How do I pay for work done on my vehicle?

  • We accept cash, debit, and a number of credit cards: Mastercard, Visa, and Discover.

What vehicles do you work on?

  • We specialize in Volvo's, VW's, and Audi's. For Volvo, we work on all years, all models. We use Dealer-Level Diagnostics Equipment and can perform the same maintenance services, diagnostics, and repairs as the dealer.*
  • In addition to Volvo, we also specialize in VW's and Audi's. We have invested in the necessary specialty tools, diagnaostic equipment and training, and are excited about working on these makes for current and future customers.
  • Note:*We do not currently offer Front End Alignments.

Do you install used parts?

  • We do not install used parts that a customer brings in for a variety of reasons. In part it is because we provide no labor warranty. If the part stops working shortly after installation (or never works) there will be additional labor charges to remove and replace the part with a properly working component. If this happens you will be unhappy (angry) because you did not save money like you had hoped and you'll most likely think its our fault--either we didn't install the part properly or we want to sell you another one. All shops feel this way (including our competition) and none of us want disgruntled and unhappy customers. For this reason we recommend new parts. With new parts, you have a part and a labor warranty.

How do I get to and from your shop while my car is in for maintenance or repairs?

  • We provide a free ride within several miles of the shop, provided we have the time to do so when you bring your vehicle in (it may be really really busy). If you need to travel further or need a vehicle for the day, we recommend using Enterprise Car Rentals. If you are in a hurry when you plan to drop off your vehicle, please call them to arrange transportation ahead of time.

Do you guarantee your work?

  • Provided that the parts are new, our parts and labor warranty is one year or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. We provide no guarantee for used parts. Used parts may come with their own warranty.

Would you purchase my vehicle, if I choose not to fix it?

  • Yes and no. For this to happen, you will most likely bring the vehicle in to be diagnosed and possibly repaired. When the vehicle is diagnosed the client decides if it is worthwhile to repair the vehicle. If you decide to sell it, and are interested in selling it to us we would then have to consider a number of factors and then let you know.

What is an extended warranty and do you do extended warranty work?

  • An extended warranty is an insurance contract that covers certain components for a set number of miles and/or years (whichever comes first). If you need to file a claim for something covered by your warranty, please stop by. We can check to see if you are able to get the work done here and see what would be involved.

Why is your hourly rate less than the dealer?

  • Generally independent shops charge less than the dealer, but not always. Generally the dealer has more overhead that requires a higher hourly rate. It has nothing to do with the quality of work or speed of service. We perform all of the same maintenance, diagnostics and repairs as the dealer.

Do you recommend a "pre-purchase" inspection when buying a used vehicle, and if so, why?

  • It does depend on the circumstances, but generally we strongly recommend having a pre-purchase inspection. When you buy a used vehicle (especially higher mileage ones) you do not want to have any unpleasant surprises. These can include: a minor service coming up, an overdue one that may run over $1,000, common wear and tear components that you can expect to replace like brakes, or something catastrophic like a impending transmission failure. Having a pre-purchase inspection will let you know what may be needed immediately and in the future. It will definitely help you decide if you should or shouldn't buy that vehicle. This doesn't mean you won't buy the vehicle, just that (1) you are informed about what will and may be needed in the future and (2) you have several bargaining points when purchasing the vehicle.
  • We offer pre-purchase inspections and highly recommend them. If you want us to perform an inspection we recommend you schedule in advance, for prompt service. Especially if you have use of the vehicle for a limited amount of time. If you are planning on buying a vehicle out of the Sacramento area, we recommend taking it to a local specialist.
